Ministries sign pact to support disabled children’s project in Salalah
As part of its social responsibility, the Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MoEM), represented by oil and gas companies, have signed a financing agreement with the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) for a building project for the Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children in Salalah.
The ceremony was attended by Eng Hussain al Bathari, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s branch in Dhofar governorate, Ahmed al Shehri, acting director general of the General Directorate of Social Development in Dhofar, and Eng Abdul Amir Abdul Mohsen al Ajmi, external affairs and value creation director at Petroleum Development Oman.
Mohammed ba Omar, chairman of Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children in Salalah, said that vocational rehabilitation of the disabled is one of the important stages for employing their energies and abilities in the appropriate profession.
He emphasised that the project constitutes a model for social responsibility and social work between the government and the private sector.
