The five-day tournament, will be held at Amerat ground from February 13-17 with the team garnering maximum points adjudged the winner.
Two games are scheduled daily with a rest day in between.
It is the first-ever international series involving a Test-playing nation to be hosted by Oman Cricket (OC) and preparations are underway in a big way to make it an outstanding success.
“We have started our domestic camp and our players are working hard to take on strong European squads at home. I believe we are on the right path and will be ready for the series,” said Mendis, who also serves as the chief development officer of Oman Cricket.
Mendis said that 'Oman players are better suited to play the shortest format of the game'.
“Over the past many years, the domestic cricket has focused on the shorter-game format, so our boys are better equipped for T20 games. It is the main reason why we have been successful in T20 tournaments at regional and international level,” he added.
Mendis said all the three visiting teams are strong including Test-playing Ireland.
“But our boys are determined to do well and I am confident that they will make an impact against the visiting sides,” he said.
Mendis also informed that an Oman Development XI will play two games against Ireland before the Quadrangular Series begins on February 13.
Following the Quadrangular Series, Oman will play a three-match ODI series against Scotland from February 19-22.
T20 Quadrangular Series schedule: February 13: Ireland vs Oman (9.15 am), Scotland vs Netherlands (1.45 pm).
Feb 15: Netherlands vs Oman (9.15 am), Ireland vs Scotland (1.45 pm).
Feb 17: Scotland vs Oman (9.15 am), Ireland vs Netherlands (1.45 pm).
