In a thrilling clash, Al Salam clinched their fourth top-flight league crown with a 3-2 (25-19, 23-25, 25-15, 19-25, 15-13) victory. Tuesday’s title win erased the disappointment of last year when Salam had lost to Seeb in the final. That defeat had also halted Salam’s run of three titles in a row. For Al Kamil W’al Wafi, the silver was a marked improvement from their fourthplace finish at the last edition.
Later, H E Dr Yahya bin Nasser al Khusaibi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Legal Affairs, gave away the awards in presence of H E Rashad al Hinai, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Sports Affairs, and Sheikh Badar al Rawas, OVA chairman. Former champions Seeb settled for the third place with a 3-1 win over Sohar. Ahli-Sidab and Al Bashayer were the other teams in the top-flight league.
Seeb, Al Salam, Al Kamil W’al Wafi and Sohar advanced to the final-four stage. Salam's Falah al Jaradi was named the most valuable player of the league.
