The duo, who will represent AZ Racing in its BRP Can-Am Maverick X3 car, had managed a top-four finish in its T3 class at the opening round in the Qatar International Rally in Doha last month.
Speaking ahead of the event, which is the second of the five rallies, Zubair said, “Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge is the most important rally for me on the calendar as it is where I started my cross country career. My teammate, Nasser [al Kuwari], has competed many times in Abu Dhabi. There are a lot of big names and former champions competing in the same category this year, but I am confident we will able to finish on podium.”
Kuwari said, “This is the third rally for me with Abdullah this season. We are improving and I think we will do even better in Abu Dhabi as our aim is nothing less than a podium.”
