The musical and dance show is supposed to be one of the biggest in recent times in the sultanate, with 15 celebrities from Dhallywood (Dhaka film industry) along with three artistes from India attending the event.
Taufiq Palash, the event organiser said, “This will be one of the biggest Bangla concerts in recent times. There will be 30 private security guards to manage the expected huge crowd.”
He added that the aim of the concert is to engage both Bangladeshi and Indian expatriates in Oman in an evening of entertainment.
“There is a huge Bangladeshi community in Oman. We are hoping that many Bangladeshis will turn up to watch the musical extravaganza. Shakib Khan is a big star back home and people will be excited to see him perform live,” he said.
Along with Khan, Dhallywood star Bidya Sinha Mim will attend the event. Among the Indian artistes will be Akassh Sen and Payel Mukherjee along with a dance troupe from Mumbai.
The show is expected to run over four hours with good sound and light effects.
It is expected that more than 5,000 people will attend the event. Tickets have been priced at RO7, RO12, RO20 and RO40.
