Seven-screen VOX Cinemas officially opens at QCC

VOX Cinemas officially opened at Qurum City Centre (QCC) on Tuesday. H H Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al Said, director general of marketing and media at the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development, was the guest of honour at the opening.

More than 220 guests attended the reception held before the première of The Expendables 3 at VOX MAX which has a 17m wide screen, the largest in the sultanate.

“Introducing VOX Cinemas to movie-goers in Qurm is a milestone for us,” said Cameron Mitchell, CEO, Majid al Futtaim - Cinemas, adding, “We have seen fantastic admission rates in both Muscat City Centre (MCC) and QCC in the short time they have been open. With seven screens at QCC and ten at MCC, we are proud to offer the largest cinema complexes in the sultanate.

Launching Dolby Atmos in VOX MAX provides yet another premium offer for movie-lovers,” added Mitchell.

“VOX Cinemas is equipped with Dolby Atmos sound, that comes alive from all directions, so the audiences are no longer just watching a movie, but they are experiencing it,” said Andreas Spechtler, regional vice president, EMEA, Dolby Laboratories.

“We are confident that movie-goers will keep coming back for the extraordinary experience that only Dolby Atmos can deliver,” Spechtler added.
