The airline will be operating two direct flights per week between Salalah and Taif and will be flying three times a week from Salalah to Sohar from June 28 to September 15. It will also increase services to Muscat to 31 times a week.
The new seasonal routes come as a result of the anticipated increase in domestic and regional travellers during the busy khareef season, which saw a record 653,000 visitors in 2016. Delivering on its promise to open the skies for guests to experience more, SalamAir’s low fare return tickets to Taif start from RO88 while return fares from Sohar are available for only RO24.
“SalamAir is excited to introduce these new services during the busy summer period and offer guests an affordable quality option as they make their travel plans,” said François Bouteiller, CEO, SalamAir.
“Since our launch SalamAir has focused its efforts on catering to demand, particularly on under-served routes. An excellent example of this innovative strategy is our new service between Salalah and Taif which is the first ever direct flight between these two cities. This route will not only give Umrah pilgrims more choice but also make their travel more convenient.”
He added, “Central to our seasonal schedule are our Muscat and Sohar flights to Salalah. This will provide much-needed connectivity and capacity to meet the rising number of people wishing to experience khareef and enjoy the cooler temperature in Dhofar governorate.”
Connecting Salalah with Taif in less than three hours and with Sohar in under two hours, the new seasonal services are fully integrated with SalamAir’s regular flights. They offer seamless connections to the airline’s daily flights to Dubai, and Jeddah as well as its three weekly services to Medina and Sialkot.
The airline’s seasonal and regular services are available for guests to book now on salamair.com. With choice always a priority, all routes offer three easy fare options: Light, Friendly and Flexi. Helping guests create their perfect journey is SalamAir’s cost-conscious menu of supplementary options such as extra luggage allowance, seat selection and priority check-in.
