Oman has banned the entry of all non-Omanis including Resident Card holders as part of precautionary measures to control the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.
Speaking to Muscat Daily
, an ROP official said, “For those who are Resident Card holders but abroad this time, they can’t enter Oman right now till this crisis is over. If their visas expire during this period, they can extend them on our website. Once they reach Oman, they can
complete the other visa formalities.”
The official said that all types of visa holders have been barred from entering Oman right now because of the measures taken to control the spread of the pandemic.
Regarding tourists who are stuck in Oman, the official said, “All such tourists should have left Oman by now as per the government’s decision but those who are still stuck because of some unforeseen circumstances can extend their visas on our website. Many of these tourists can’t enter their own country because of complete halt to international flight service. Such tourists can extend their visas and stay in Oman.”
