Al Bashayer Meat Company will be the first in Oman to use latest meat processing technologies in accordance with the Islamic law.
The project is planned to consider and integrate all elements of meat processing - from getting animals, to using end products, in addition to any waste management such as using treated wastewater as fertiliser, processing leather and other by-products from slaughter waste.
The project aims to establish barns for fattening livestock such as goats and sheep for a specified period by feeding them, improving the quality of meat, and then slaughtering and distributing meat. It will also include the establishment of a high-tech slaughterhouse with a production capacity of more than 1mn livestock annually.
The project, which will be one of the largest in the region, is expected to start in January 2020.
