The project will be spread over an area of 70sq km and produce 66,000 tonnes of high-quality white meat annually.
It will have a compound feed plant with a production capacity of 50 tonnes/hr and 500 tonnes per day. It will have a production capacity of 200,00 birds per day and can be increased to 500,000 birds a day. It will have 240 poultry breeding sheds distributed over 20 expandable production units.
It will have automatic hatcheries with a capacity of 70mn eggs, capable of increasing to 100mn eggs per year. In addition, it will have a solid and liquid waste treatment plant with a capacity of 200 tonnes of fertiliser per day and 80 tonnes of residues of the slaughterhouse daily. Speaking on the occasion, H E Dr Sajwani stressed the importance of Namaa Poultry Project for achieving food security vis-à-vis white meat by up to 80 per cent in the coming years.
He said that food security projects are being completed over a period of time to achieve self-sufficiency in food products as part of efforts by the Oman Food Security Holding Company and other companies, in addition to the efforts made in Al Nakheel Projects.
Eng Saleh bin Mohammed al Shanfari, CEO of Oman Food Security Company and chairman of Namaa Poultry Company, said that it will be one of the largest food production projects in the Arab world in continuation of the projects of the Omani Food Security Company in the sultanate.
