It was inaugurated by H E Dr Fuad bin Jaafar bin Mohammed al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries.
The exhibition features over 75 local and international companies. Participating countries include Iran, India, Italy, Turkey, the Netherlands, Denmark, South Africa, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka and many more.
World Halal & Food Assembly Oman, is a two-day event being held from May 16 to 17. The event will feature top international and local speakers from the sector sharing their knowledge and discussing various challenges faced by the industry.

Standards & Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) will be organising a workshop on Halal Standards on May 17. The SMIIC Halal Food standards are the most popular ones for the manufacturing industry throughout the world in both Muslim and non-Muslim countries and widely used in the food industry and by certification bodies.
All three events are supported by Muscat Municipality, Ithraa, Oman Animal & Plant Genetic Resources Centre and Riyada.
