Organised by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) as part of ‘Origin Oman’ campaign, the exhibition aimed at introducing locally-manufactured products to visitors.
“The feedback from visitors is overwhelming,” said Hamood al Balushi, director of Omani Products Department at PEIE’s Directorate General of Marketing and Media. “The positive response of the visitors will help in developing this event further.”
Visitors to the exhibition from various Gulf, Arab and other countries, in addition to Omanis, also appreciated the variety and quality of Omani products showcased.
Abdullah al Marri from Qatar said that Omani manufacturers explained to visitors on how they operate, produce and export the products.
“I have tried several Omani products including foodstuff. I believe that this is the right time for Omani companies to boost their production and marketing capabilities,” Marri said.
Dhishan, a Pakistani expatriate, hailed the government’s efforts in supporting locally-manufactured products. “It was great to see more than 40 local companies and factories coming together to display their products.”
Salim al Rashdi, another visitor said Omani companies and factories need to boost production to increase their presence across the world.
“Consumers in Oman are realising the importance of purchasing quality Omani products. I strongly believe that locally-manufactured products have the capability to compete with imported products. I am sure our products are of export quality and carve a space for themselves,” Rashdi added.
