In April last year, the ROP had stopped issuing the ten-day visa, with tourists only having the option of one-month visas for RO20.
Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsen al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs issued the new decision (No 129/2018) on June 13, which came into effect from June 14.
The decision includes amending nine items as well as adding two new items of ‘entry visas’ in Article 29 of the executive regulations of the Foreigners’ Residency Law.
The new items include tourist visa fee for ten days for RO5. “Omani embassies/consulates can issue this visa in coordination with government agencies within the sultanate. This visa is extendable,” the ROP said.
Another change which has been introduced is that anyone who wants to submit an application to convert a visa (e.g. from visit to employment) must pay a non-refundable fee of RO50.
