The convoy visited a total of six cities: Seeb, Musandam, Nizwa, Sur, Sohar and Salalah. In its unique journey, the convoy was able to emphasise the significance of mental health as well as shed light on many of the touristic attractions and hidden gems of the sultanate.
Led by Sayyida Basma al Said, the team celebrated this success with an extraordinary event at the Grand Millennium hotel in Muscat on May 20, coinciding with the Mental Health Awareness Month.
The event commenced by displaying the highlights of each of the convoy’s destinations, capturing the memorable moments in many of the videos.
This was complemented with short talks presented by the volunteers who described their experience in this volunteering campaign as well as the benefits they gained and the opportunities they were granted to showcase their talents. The informative yet entertaining event was met with great appreciation from the audience, which included a number of highly important individuals, inculcating within them the importance of mental health and advising them to support those who are struggling, thereby reassuring them that they are ‘Not Alone’.
The convoy is proud to have been a principal contributor in raising awareness regarding mental health issues both locally and internationally. The team of psychologists and professional experts presented practical solutions to stress, anxiety and depression and a first-aid kit to tackle mental health problems.
