The work at the new building will be handled by Oman Aviation Services, part of Oman Aviation Group, and the company will receive cargo requests from 8am to 5pm.
The last cargo flight arriving at the old building was scheduled for 10.30am on Tuesday with the last departing flight at 11.20am.
The first cargo flight will arrive at the new building at 10.30am on Wednesday while the first departing flight will be at 11.20am.
The new air cargo building is considered one of the pivotal projects in the Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport development projects.
The new cargo building is equipped with top global specifications in order to keep up with the growing flow of cargo in the sultanate.
The new cargo building has 20,000sq m area and 50,000 tonnes per year capacity that can be expanded to reach 100,000 tonnes per year.
