The agreements were signed by H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, the Minister of Manpower and general managers, executives and representatives of the training organisations.
In a media statement, H E Bakri said that the agreements are important additions to the training and rehabilitation of national manpower in different fields. This will supply skilled manpower to the labour market.
The training programmes are coupled with employment through engaging with prospective employers directly after completion of training. He said that the ministry will carry out follow-ups and assessments to ensure the quality of training.
He added that the training programmes are not imposed by the ministry but come in response to needs of the labour market. Each trainee will receive RO150 as monthly stipend and the cost of training will be borne by the government.
After their training concludes, the graduates will sign employment contracts with the organisations on salaries that suit their qualifications.
