MCBS is accredited by Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC). The college has earned Premier status with ASIC for its commendable areas of operation. ASIC is an independent, government-approved accreditation body specialising in the accreditation of schools, colleges, universities, training organisations and online and distance education providers in the UK, Europe and overseas. ASIC is a member of the CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG) in the US and is listed in their International Directory; it is a member of the British Quality Foundation (BQF) and an affiliate of European Network for Quality Assurance (ENQA). It is an institutional member of European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN).
ASIC accreditation takes a detailed look at the whole institution and takes many different factors into account, including the health and safety of the premises, the resources available to staff and management, delivery of the course material, welfare of the students, qualifications and awards offered by the institution and the marketing and student recruitment procedures. Each of these areas is considered and graded when deciding whether to award accreditation.
MCBS has been awarded commendable grades in the following areas: Premises and Health and Safety; Learning and Teaching, Course Delivery; Student Welfare; Management and Staff Resources; Quality Assurance and Enhancement and Marketing and Recruitment. MCBS is the very first higher education institution to receive this recognition in the sultanate.
