Kenyan delegation visits Oman ahead of products expo in Nairobi

As part of preparations for the ninth edition of the Omani Products Exhibition (Opex 2018), to be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from October 29 to November 1, a Kenyan trade delegation visited the sultanate.

The delegation, headed by Kibrono Kitoni, chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, discussed joint cooperation for the establishment and promotion of the exhibition among the companies, institutions and businessmen in both Oman and Kenya. It also looked at ways of providing all support to achieve its objectives.

During the visit, the delegation met H E Dr Ali bin Masoud bin Ali al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, where the minister discussed enhancing trade cooperation between Oman and Kenya.

The delegation also met Rashid bin Amer al Meslihi, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ayman bin Abdullah al Hassani, chairman of Opex organising committee, Sheikh Fahmi bin Eid al Hinai, honorary consul of Ethiopia in Oman, vice chairman of the organising committee of Opex.

Qais bin Mohammed al Yousuf, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomed the visiting delegation, stressing the depth of economic and trade relations between Oman and Kenya.

He pointed at the importance of enhancing trade cooperation and increasing trade and investment exchanges between the two friendly countries. Exhibitions, visits of trade delegations, signing of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding related to the exercise of economic activities between Omani institutions and parties in Kenya contribute significantly to the promotion of trade relations and joint ventures.

Kitoni stressed on the importance of strengthening trade relations between Oman and Kenya and working together to find joint projects that serve the economic interests between the two countries.
