‘ITEC Programme helps Oman’s human resource development’

More than 200 Omani delegates took part in the ITEC Day 2017 at the Indian Embassy premises on Monday.

These delegates were part of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme in the previous years. The event was held under the patronage of H E Sheikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Services and in the presence of other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, H E Indra Mani Pandey, India’s Ambassador to Oman, said, “Skills development under the ITEC Programme contributes significantly to Oman’s goals to train its human resources and diversify the economy through small and medium enterprises.

“Several training courses are offered under the ITEC Programme, which are open to both government officials and non-government nominees chosen by the Government of Oman. ITEC Programme facilitates human resource development, capacity building, skills upgradation and empowerment.”

H E Pandey added that 150 scholarships are offered to Omanis as part of the ITEC Programme in view of India’s close relations with Oman.
