Hoehler+Partner honoured at German Design Awards 2016 in Frankfurt

Muscat -

Hoehler+Partner Architects and Engineers, an Omani-German joint venture, based in Muscat has been gaining reputation as one of the most innovative architectural firm in the sultanate.

At the recent German Design Awards 2016, the company was recognised with the ‘Special Mention Award’ in Frankfurt for their unique and sustainable German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) project.

Guided by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s strong commitment to provide excellence in education for the country's youth, GUtech has in a few short years gone from a ground-breaking design concept to becoming one of the most iconic and recognisable facilities in the sultanate. The GUtech campus was even graced by His Majesty the Sultan’s presence on December 24, 2012. His Majesty the Sultan’s visit to GUtech was an honour and at the same time a humbling moment for Hoehler+Partner, the company that secured the bid to design the campus.

It reiterates Hoehler+Partner’s efforts to take great strides in making the sultanate home to iconic architecture.

Muhammad Sultan al Salmy, managing director and partner said, “Hoehler+Partner has become the leading name in the Omani design circuit because of our ability to create modern, sustainable designs that marry traditional Omani architecture with contemporary and functional

designs. This is an invaluable recognition of the exceptional commitment shown by the corporation and designers at the company. We are very pleased to be the only firm in Oman to be presented with an award in this category and look forward to reaching new heights.”
