H E Bakri meets new Nepalese ambassador, discusses ways to enhance labour diplomacy

H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah al Bakri, Minister for Manpower met H E Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Nepalese Ambassador to Oman on Wednesday. During the meeting, H E Sarmila deliberated on ways to enhance bilateral relations through labour diplomacy.

She also thanked His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Government of Oman for hosting and providing employment opportunities to a sizeable number of Nepalese in Oman. She also spoke to H E Bakri about the other areas of cooperation in human resources such as engineering, health hospitality and tourism sectors.

She also spoke about the progress in the proposed MoU for labour. Congratulating the ambassador on her appointment, H E Bakri explained about the Omani Labour Law as an international ILO standard law that makes no differentiation between non-Omani and Omani labourers working.

H E Bakri said that the sultanate is seeking skilled manpower and hence will be willing to receive the same from Nepal in various sectors such as health, tourism, fishing, mining, infrastructure and manufacturing. He also discussed the new online services of the Ministry of Manpower where people can register their grievances online.
