Qureshi is leading a 12-member delegation of technical experts representing sectors of bilateral cooperation falling under the purview of the Joint Commission whose seventh session will be co-chaired by the two foreign ministers on Thursday. This will be followed by a signing ceremony of accords.
During his three-day visit, Qureshi will participate in a mega reception of the Pakistani community. The event will showcase colourful performances by a troupe and band of 50 children from Pakistan School Muscat and Beacon House representing diverse cultural heritage and the national anthem.
A total of 750 guests have been invited to the occasion. More than 50 Pakistanis, Omanis and people of other nationalities will be presented ‘Certificates of Appreciation’ for their contributions to the Pakistan-Oman Friendship.
Speaking on the occasion, H E Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan, expressed great enthusiasm on behalf of all sections of the 272,000 Pakistani community saying, ‘every colour in our spectrum in Oman will be present during the community event’.
