Governor of Dhofar reviews khareef preparations

H E Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan bin Hamoud al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar on Monday held a meeting to review the preparations of concerned authorities in Dhofar for the upcoming khareef season.

The meeting discussed about the facilities and services which will be provided to visitors especially during the Eid al Fitr holidays and Salalah Tourism Festival.

The meeting reviewed measures taken to ensure smooth traffic movement and maintaining safety of citizens, residents and visitors. It also discussed enhancing municipal services and readiness of the roads to handle traffic movement leading to Dhofar through the wilayat of Thumrait, as well as the coastal road through the wilayat of Shaleem and Al Halaniyat Islands.


The meeting also discussed the healthcare services including the availability of healthcare professionals and centres, emergency and heartcare centres, as well as mobile medical services on the Adam/Thumrait road. The meeting reviewed the accommodation facilities, food supplies, fuel and banking services in the wilayats of the governorates.

They also discussed increasing the number of flights by Oman Air and SalamAir. The meeting was attended by Advisor Abdullah bin Aqeel al Ibrahim, acting deputy governor of Dhofar, H E Sheikh Salim bin Ufait al Shanfari, head of Dhofar Municipality, advisors at the Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar's office, the Assistant Commander of Dhofar Police, as well as public and private sector officials.
