Embassy reaches out to Indian community

Muscat -

The Embassy of India in Oman has addressed some of the concerns troubling the Indian community in these difficult times.

Many Indian expatriates have raised concerns regarding relatives stuck at home or in other countries, while some on visit visas are held back in Oman.

There are many who are also worried about their children studying abroad in international universities, who can’t come back to Oman while they are being forced out of their hostels with educational institutions closing down.

H E Munu Mahawar, Ambassador of India to Oman, said, “There is no possibility at this stage for non-nationals with resident visas to return to Oman. I would advise that such persons/students/children remain in contact with the concerned Indian Embassy/Consulate locally and take precautions to protect themselves.”

The ambassador also said that the embassy has taken note of the admission problem for universities in India and will look into it on a case-to-case basis.
