The meeting was chaired by Dr Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Hamad al Barwani, chief executive officer of the National Centre for Statistics and Information and attended by committee members. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Barwani said that the project is progressing in accordance with the set timeline.
He said that the target completion rate to be achieved before the end of this year is 50 per cent. Highlighting the planned awareness activities, Dr Barwani stressed on the importance that both organisations and individuals must make sure that their data is up to date with the concerned agencies.
Omar al Ismaili, director general of E-Census, gave an overview about the project including its current status, data-matching progress, mechanism of the electronic link with relevant census databases, procedures for updating data and their inclusiveness and integration.
Ismaili also discussed the level of progress that has been achieved so far in building the E-Census electronic system.
