The programme was colourful with cultural activities and traditional songs.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr K T Rabeeullah, chairman Shifa al Jazeera Medical Group, witnessing by a hall packed with audience. In his inaugural speech, Dr Rabeeullah insisted on the need of a philanthropical attitude in businessmen all around the world.
He said, “We see a world full of poverty and a large chunk of people suffering and leading a miserable life to an extent where they cannot meet their daily needs of food, clothing or shelter. If businessmen open their mind towards charity and start giving, it is easy to eradicate poverty from the world in no time.
Dr Sridevi P T, principal of Indian School Muscat, who recently received the best teacher award for CBSE was honoured in the programme.
Cultural programmes started with the arrival of disguised King Maveli, the legendary people-loving King of kerala, with whom Onam celebration is associated with, along with the Kolkali performance of the Thanima al Khuwair team. The event was entertaining with a variety of programmes such as comedy skits by Niyas Backer and Sneha of Manorama Channel’s Marimayam fame, songs by famous Mappilapattu singer Yusuf Karakkad, Muhsin Edayur, TV anchors and singers, Shihab and Shabana, songs by Mehrin and Sri Lakshmi of Kairali TV’s singing reality show Kuttippatturumal fame. The audience was also entertained by a magic dance show by Niyas Kannur. Well-known radio presenter, Reji Mannel anchored the show. Oman Angana also presented some songs and programmes in the event.
