H E Dr Saeedi said the health sector in the sultanate has come a long way, and pointed out that this change is not only due to the services provided over the years but also due to the improvement in lifestyle in general.
However, he singled out the development of health services in the sultanate in the recent years. There are now 49 hospitals run by the Ministry of Health with 5,034 beds. In addition, some 206 health centres serve the public and 65 of them are equipped with beds (a total of 109 beds).
H E Dr Sa’eedi said the ministry has focused on primary healthcare and other healthcare facilities in the country. He added that the sultanate is now a role model on how to establish and manage quality healthcare.
The minister stressed that the health sector must keep pace with what is new in the field to provide good health services in the sultanate.
