The event will start with Omani traditional dance and music, and singing by Munther Hassan – an Omani singer; other activities like lucky draws and quiz competition, etc will be part of the event. The winners of raffle draw, quiz competition, and other activities will be presented with special healthcare privilege cards and gifts.
The advanced and spacious facility will deliver healthcare services in general medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, gynaecology, paediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology, dentistry, dermatology, orthopaedics, etc. The centre will have X-rays, ultrasound scans, ECG, ENT diagnostic facilities, ophthalmology diagnostic facilities, pathology laboratory, etc. Gradually, the hospital authorities will be adding more specialities and facilities in near future. The centre will have a 24-hour open pharmacy, optical shop, in addition to ample space for parking.
The centre will also have advanced emergency department with triage facilities. It will have a total of ten beds to handle emergency cases. The centre will have additional facility for visa medical services as well.
Establishing an advanced polyclinic was the need of the hour, stated the hospital authorities. ‘Badr al Samaa realised the need of people in adjoining areas like Suwaiq, Musannah, Al Khabourah and Rustaq who had to travel distances to avail quality healthcare services. The hospital has a back-up of sturdy four-wheel drive ambulances which will be utilised to transport sick patients from remote and peripheral areas to the polyclinic or to our hospital in Barka. Badr al Samaa with this introduction has come to the door steps of patients in the above mentioned regions with quality and affordable healthcare,’ it said.
Abdul Latheef, managing director, Badr al Samaa Group of Hospitals, in his address to the media said that the group is overwhelmed to introduce the new facility to the people who had been demanding such a facility for a long time.
He also said that Badr al Samaa always looks at the convenience of the patients, which will not just save their time but also money.
He said the service quality will be on par with JCI standards, which the group has implemented in other flagship centres.
Badr al Samaa Group is also ready to launch its new medical centres in Duqm and Ma’abela by the end of this year. The management of Badr al Samaa has allocated approximately RO50mn for the expansions including opening of a state-of-the-art advanced hospital in Sohar by the first quarter of 2020. New centres are planned in Buraimi and Amerat as well. Dr V T Vinod and Dr P A Mohammed, managing directors, in a joint communiqué stated that the group is adding more medical programmes and has plans to introduce oncology services in association with Rutherford Cancer Centre, UK, and infertility treatments soon.
