I am sure that someone was having a game with me last Saturday as I drove around Madinat as Sultan Qaboos, looking for a way out. For several weeks now the exit westwards, by the Pizza Hut roundabout, has been blocked.
The final day of 2012 is a fitting time for all of us to reflect on the year just passed, and I would like to share a few personal thoughts on what it has meant for me.

I know from some of my Omani friends that the words of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said in respect of the drive to increase employment, particularly of the young in the private sector, are gaining traction.
