The awards were organised by Apex Press and Publishing and winners were chosen by the general public. The award categories were expanded from ten to 26 for the 2017 edition and Omantel won in the telecom category for the second consecutive year.
The event was held under the auspices of H H Sayyid Tarik bin Shabib bin Taimur al Said and patronage of H E Dr Ali bin Masoud bin Ali al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry.

The Oman’s Most Trusted Brands were chosen based on public voting, which is a reflection of consumer satisfaction. The survey is an opportunity of highlighting which brands are trustworthy in an effort to establish good corporate standards in the sultanate. The event was attended by the chairmen, managing directors, CEOs and other top officials from the 26 winners.
