Indian Embassy organises business meet

Muscat - 

The Indian Embassy in Muscat, as part of its endeavour to promote business and trade relations between India and Oman, organised a business meet at its premises on Monday.

‘The focus of the business meet was to promote Vibrant Goa Global Expo and Summit 2019, which is to be held in the Indian State of Goa from October 17-19 as well as to apprise visiting Indian companies of the opportunities of investments in Oman, specially in mining sector as the event coincided with Oman Mining Expo 2019, being held in Muscat’, Indian Embassy said in a press release.

H E Hilal al Busaidi, CEO, Public Authority for Mining (PAM) was the chief guest of the event. In his address, he referred to the historical relations between both countries and stressed on the immense potential for further cooperation in mining sector.

He also stated that mining is a focus area for Oman’s development with an attention to environment. He said India’s experience in mining was also useful in developing Oman’s mining strategy.

The business meet was attended by around 40 delegates including senior representatives of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, PAM, Minerals Development Oman (MDO), Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as by Indian and Omani businessmen.

H E Munu Mahawar, India’s Ambassador to Oman welcomed the delegation and referred to the ever increasing trade between India and Oman. He also invited Omani businessmen to attend Vibrant Goa Global Expo and Summit 2019.

H E Mardes bin Abdullah al Harthy, Advisor in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry was the guest of honour at the business meet. Besides him, Nasser Saif al Maqbali, chief executive officer of MDO and representatives of SEZAD and Ithraa were also present in the meet. During the event they also made presentations about opportunities available in Oman and invited Indian businessmen to benefit from them.

Representative from Vibrant Goa Summit also made a presentation on the business potential of the state, enumerating sectors such as pharmaceutical, tourism, startup, education etc and invited Omani businessmen to attend the Vibrant Goa Global Expo and Summit 2019 and to enjoy the hospitality of Goa as well as to know more about the opportunities available.
