The BBH Logistics City is the first integrated logistics city in Muscat governorate with all the facilities and services needed by investors and workers. It includes 24 warehouses of 1,000sq m each for various uses, administrative offices serving business owners, meeting rooms, labour accommodation, and a mall that meets the requirements of residents.
Dr Khalid bin Salem al Mataani, chair of BBH Group, described the city as an integrated logistics project established in a modern style to be an extension of the sultanate's comprehensive development in various sectors. He said that BBH is embarking on its projects through its belief in the importance of real partnership between the government and private sector.
Mataani added that the logistics city in Rusayl is one of the similar projects that the BBH Group intends to implement in other cities that are essential to the economic development such as Sohar, Duqm and Salalah.
The investment cost of BBH's logistics city project in Rusayl has exceeded RO20mn and the first phase is ready for business.
The units have received a large number of investors, while the other units will be complete in the first half of this year.
Mataani said that the BBH Logistics City is a model for integrated logistics cities due to its facilities that serve business owners, employees, workers and goods. It is adjacent to the Muscat Expressway and the Sahwa Tower-Bidbid Road on the other side. It is accessible due to the open location on highways along with other facilities that have high specifications.
In addition to the logistics city in Rusayl, BBH Group is developing a range of mixed-purpose real-estate projects in a number of governorates according to a specific strategy. It is currently developing two projects in Muscat, BBH Towers known as Irfan City and Al-Muhallab Towers alongside Muscat Expressway at the outskirts of Al-Ansab.
It is expected that the group will launch another project next February, i.e., Al Farahidi Compound in Seeb to be in the middle of Knowledge Oasis Muscat and Sultan Qaboos University. It will provide 300 housing units with 600 rooms to suit the capabilities and possibilities of many parents of students or middle class seekers of properties.
Other projects included in the BBH Group's plan are the establishment of a souq in Wilayat of Seeb designed in the same way as traditional markets. It includes 1,200 shops, rest houses and a heritage hotel that reflects the history and heritage of the sultanate. The investment cost is about RO50mn. The group will offer 20 per cent of the souq for sale.
In South Sharqiyyah governorate, the BBH Group is developing a four-star hotel in Al Ashkharah, which is currently in the final design stage after the purchase of the project plot. Construction is expected to start at the end of this year.
