Earlier this month, Shaksy had resigned from his position as chief executive officer of National Bank of Oman (NBO).
“The board of directors of alizz islamic bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Salaam Said al Shaksy as the chief executive officer of the bank,” alizz islamic bank said in its filing to the MSM.
Shaksy has over twenty-five years of banking experience. He started his banking career with Citibank Global Consumer Business in 1993 in Dubai.
Shaksy has held the position of general manager and chief executive officer with several reputed local and international banks and financial institutions such as NBO, Dubai Bank, Dubai Banking Group, Dubai Islamic Investment Group and Majan International Bank. He has also been on the boards of many national and international companies.
“The board of directors of alizz islamic bank welcomes Salaam Said al Shaksy to lead the bank's operations and wishes him every success in his new assignments,” alizz islamic bank said in its disclosure.
Earlier in March this year, Jamal Darwiche had resigned from his position as the acting CEO of alizz islamic bank for personal reasons and the board of directors of the bank had resolved to accept his resignation. On the board's advice, Saif al Yarubi took on the responsibility during the interim period as acting CEO of alizz islamic bank.
